On the occassion of Talents 2020<\/strong>, the Accademia Costume & Moda presents a project that visualizes the synopsis of the Academic Triennial Diploma in Costume and Fashion; a unique training course developed to bring out the identity of its participants, as well as to equip them with awareness, individuality, cultural appreciation, competence, technique, experience and professionalism.
This edition sees the participation of 18 students<\/strong> (11 for clothing and 7 for accessories) who were given the opportunity to collaborate with 47 Made in Italy companies to create 18 Capsule Collections<\/strong> (6 outfits each) that will be presented during Altaroma, on Saturday 25 January at the Ex-Caserma Guido Reni. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An exceptional collaboration <\/strong>between companies and students representing a unicum in the field of global training which aspires to establish real partnerships with Italian manufacturing excellence <\/strong>(wool and silk textile companies, embroidery factories, technological and experimental processes, tanneries and shoe factories). The collections being presented will be those with important personalities, ideas and stories, garments that derive from careful research – both cultural and individual – from experimenting in the subject area, with different fabrics, as well as in design, and from the technical and design abilities acquired by the young designers. <\/strong>The designers will be coordinated by Santo Costanzo for clothing and Luigi Mulas Debois<\/strong> for accessories, capitalizing on the artisanal know-how and refined manufacturing processes of the companies involved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The young designers are: <\/strong>Sajith Amaratunga, Eva Bureau, Benedetta Cidonio, Elena D\u2019Amico, Giulio D\u2019Arpino, Alessia Di Secl\u00ec, Maddalena Gentile, Arianna Irato, Gabriele Larcher, Alessandra Mansi, Marco Passone, Federica Pironti, Alice Piscedda, Beatrice Scanni, Alessandro Tais, Giorgia Tavian, Irene Valandro, Marie Bernadette Woehrl. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New to this edition <\/strong>of Talents will be the participation of students enrolled in the three-year Academic Diploma in Fashion Communication<\/strong>: Fashion Editor, Styling & Communication, who will present a multi-channel communication project on a topic of their choice, developed during the academic year under the tutorship of Antonio Mancinelli<\/strong>, Senior Editor for Marie Claire Italia.
The 2020 Talents of the Fashion Communication Diploma are: <\/strong>Luca Cantiello, Camilla Galletta, Giada Mussini, Sara Verrecchia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judging the work of all the participants, will be a prestigious jury of experts who will evaluate the collections and portfolios<\/strong> in terms of Innovation, Research and Total Look for Fashion and Costume Talents; and in terms of Research, Innovation, Realization and Presentation for the Communication Talents.<\/strong> Through the involvement of these important professionals, The Accademia Costume & Moda endeavors to give maximum visibility to these young designers, as well as to receive feedback from, and to ensure collaboration with, the companies involved, so as to continue to strive for modernity vis-\u00e0-vis requests from the market and industry players.

Talents 2020 also represents a triumphant moment in this honorable path spanning ten years, which has led to the Academy receiving four Badges of Excellence<\/strong> (Global Influence, Learning Experience, Long Term Value, Alumni Network) from The Business of Fashion – The Best Fashion School in the World 2019.<\/strong> Of sixty-six schools surveyed, only three in the world obtained all four Badges for the Fashion Design category, both for the three year and the Masters programmes; thus positioning itself as the best school in the world for 2019 on a par<\/strong> with Central Saint Martins in London and the Institute Fran\u00e7aise de la Mode in Paris (https:\/\/www.businessoffashion.com\/education\/best-schools)<\/a>. Thanks to these protagonists, Made in Italy heroes<\/strong>, today we are among the most important international academic institutions, and together with them we have embarked on new paths both in terms of training, for example, the launch of the new Master in “Fabrics Innovation Design<\/strong>” in February, but also in terms of career opportunities, bringing the employment rate of our students to over 93%<\/strong>“.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A virtuous joining of business, teachers and students endeavoring to create professionals capable of covering different key roles throughout the entire fashion industry, facilitating the coming together of costume and fashion, research and design, communication and product.
Pitti Immagine <\/strong>– through the Pitti Tutorship Group<\/strong> that offers support and enrichment to fashion designers \u2013 will again select one of the 18 Talents 2020 to whom it will confer the “Pitti Tutorship Reward\u201d<\/strong>. Established in 2017, the award gives a young designer the opportunity to conduct three training workshops with Luca Rizzi<\/strong>, the project director.
Special thanks go to alumnus Marco Mastroianni<\/strong>, Head of Materials and Manufacturing Research for some of the most prestigious fashion houses in the world, who supported the participants in choosing their fabrics, together with the infinite generosity and momentous support from the Sistema Moda Italia companies who supplied fabrics and garments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
