Questo progetto si è articolato intorno alla nascita dell’Art Nouveau in Francia. L’école de Nancy, precedentemente nota come “école de Metz”, è stato il primo luogo in cui artisti di diversi orizzonti hanno potuto lavorare sotto lo stesso tetto per condividere le loro conoscenze e abilità. L’idea era quella di rifiutare l’industria della produzione di massa degli ultimi 50 anni per mettere in evidenza gli artigiani e l’artigianato di tutto il paese. Per collegare nuovamente l’Arte e le persone alla natura, L’école de Nancy ha utilizzato come linea guida e riferimento al mondo organico dei fiori e degli alberi. Attraverso diversi mezzi, hanno dato vita a uno dei periodi più belli e gloriosi della storia dell’arte.
Dalla forma delle finestre ai mobili e ai dipinti, l’Art Nouveau era un concetto molto attento ai dettagli. Tutto è Arte, e selvaggiamente dominato, che riflette la modernità e infrange tutte le regole delle proporzioni stabilite in passato.
L’idea alla base del progetto “mano nella mano” era anche qualcosa che ho immediatamente collegato all'”Ecole de Nancy” dall’importanza degli artigiani e dal mantenere viva l’artigianato.
Allo stesso modo, il mio progetto è stato realizzato con il supporto di due persone, incaricate della realizzazione della lavorazione del legno e della saldatura. È un tentativo di portare l’Art nouveau nel mondo di Fendi nel 2021.
This project has been articulated around the birth of Art Nouveau in France. L’école de Nancy, previsouly known as ‘école de Metz’ was the first place where artists from different horizons were able to work under the same roof to share their knowlegde and ability. The idea was to reject the mass-production industry from the past 50 years to highlight artisans and craftmanship from the whole country. To connect Art and people to nature again, L’école de Nancy used as a guide-line and reference the organic world of flowers and trees. Through different mediums, they gave birth to one of the most beautiful and glorious time in art history.
From the shape of the windows to the furnitures and the paintings Art Nouveau was a very detail oriented concept. Everything is Art, and wildly mastered, reflecting modernity, and breaking all the rules of proportions established in the past.
The idea behind the ‘hand in hand’ project was also something that I immediatly connected to ‘Ecole de Nancy’ by the importance of artisans and keeping the craftmanship alive.
In the same way, my project has been built with the support of two people, in charge of the making for the wood work, and the welding. It’s an attempt of bringing Art nouveau into the world of Fendi in 2021.
