Looks that kill, is what someone defined as an “autobiographical project” and, in fact, I realized that it contains two opposing souls that are part of me. The collection is the meeting between two apparently antithetical figures, the “Sciura Milanese” and the Hard Rock style of the 80s, in which the only common point seems to be the teased hair. I wanted to combine the distinctive traits of these inspirations which combine bouclé and bourgeois attitude with an exaggerated and electric style, like that of the bands that dominated this historical period and which embodies the feeling of excess and spectacularization that characterized those years. The immoderate ostentation and aggressive styling were chosen on purpose and with the aim of creating a meeting that was glamorous.
Looks that kill, è quello che qualcuno ha definito come “progetto autobiografico” e, in effetti, mi sono resa conto che racchiude due anime contrapposte che fanno parte di me. La collezione è l’incontro tra due figure in apparenza antitetiche, la “Sciura Milanese” e lo stile Hard Rock degli anni ‘80, in cui l’unico punto in comune sembrano essere i capelli cotonati. Ho voluto unire i tratti distintivi di queste ispirazioni che uniscono il bouclè e l’atteggiamento borghese ad uno stile esagerato ed elettrico come quello delle band che hanno dominato questo periodo storico e che incarna il sentimento di eccesso e spettacolarizzazione che ha contraddistinto quegli anni. L’ostentazione smodata e lo styling aggressivo sono stati scelti di proposito e con lo scopo di creare un incontro che fosse il glamour.
