Le giovani generazioni stanno vivendo un momento
storico particolarmente complesso, caratterizzato
da eventi disastrosi: lotte di potere fra le nazioni, con
relativa instabilità economica, guerre, drastici
cambiamenti climatici, forte inquinamento, e la recente,
terribile pandemia.
Negli ultimi decenni siamo stati involontari partecipi
di tutti questi eventi drammatici che ci hanno trasmesso
un forse senso d’incertezza nel futuro.
In questo scenario drammatico, tuttavia, osserviamo
come l’arte riesca sempre a rappresentare e in un
certo qual modo a semplificare e rendere più accettabile
la realtà contemporanea e, volendo fare
un parallelismo temporale, vogliamo soffermarci sulla
corrente degli Espressionisti.
L’Espressionismo è un movimento artistico che fiorì
nel primo ventennio del Novecento e fu promotore
di un’espressione di pensiero radicalmente differente
rispetto al passato.
Il senso dell’Espressionismo produce una ribellione
dello spirito contro la materia, laddove la realtà è
trasfigurata attraverso gli “occhi dell’anima”.
Gli Espressionisti non avevano una visione oggettiva
e univoca del mondo, ma rappresentavano la realtà
come la percepivano, tesi a far emergere la personale
carica emotiva.
Gli artisti intendevano essere portavoce della sofferenza
dell’uomo oppresso da una società corrotta e
ipocrita con l’intenzione di denunciare l’orrore e la
violenza di questa condizione esistenziale.
Gli appartenenti a questo movimento trasmettevano
la drammaticità della condizione esistenziale
dell’uomo attraverso immagini semplificate e schematiche,
caratterizzate da colori accesi, da nette
contrapposizioni di ombre e luci e da linee marcate
per racchiudere le figure.
Prendendo spunto da questa corrente artistica, ho
fatto degli approfondimenti sulla tendenza estetica
espressa dalle Avanguardie storiche del primo Novecento
ed in particolare nell’Astrattismo, soffermandomi
sul movimento fondato da Vasilij Kandinskij
e Franz Marc, “Il Cavaliere Azzurro”.
Franz Marc, nel libro “Lettere al cavaliere azzurro”,
fa capire l’importanza del colore.
Il colore, mezzo di espressione degli Artisti Astratti,
è lo strumento per manifestare gli stati d’animo e i
sentimenti.
The younger generation is experiencing a moment
particularly complex historical moment, characterized
by disastrous events: power struggles among nations, with
relative economic instability, wars, drastic
climate change, heavy pollution, and the recent,
terrible pandemic.
In recent decades we have been unwitting participants
of all these dramatic events that have conveyed to us
a perhaps sense of uncertainty in the future.
Against this dramatic backdrop, however, we observe
how art always manages to represent and in a
certain way to simplify and make more acceptable
contemporary reality and, wanting to make
a time parallel, we want to dwell on the
current of the Expressionists.
Expressionism is an artistic movement that flourished
in the first two decades of the twentieth century and was the promoter
of a radically different expression of thought
than in the past.
The sense of Expressionism produces a rebellion
of the spirit against matter, where reality is
transfigured through the “eyes of the soul.”
The Expressionists did not have an objective
and unambiguous view of the world, but represented reality
as they perceived it, tending to bring out the personal
emotional charge.
The artists intended to be spokesmen for the suffering
of man oppressed by a corrupt and
hypocritical society with the intention of denouncing the horror and
violence of this existential condition.
The members of this movement conveyed
the dramatic nature of the existential condition
of man through simplified and schematic images,
characterized by bright colors, sharp
juxtapositions of shadows and light and by marked lines
to enclose the figures.
Taking my cue from this artistic current, I have
made insights into the aesthetic trend
expressed by the historical avant-gardes of the early twentieth century
and in particular in Abstractionism, dwelling
on the movement founded by Vasily Kandinsky
and Franz Marc, “The Blue Rider.”
Franz Marc, in his book Letters to the Blue Knight,
makes clear the importance of color.
Color, the medium of expression of Abstract Artists,
is the tool for manifesting moods and
feelings.
