Freedom twenties
Libertà, emancipazione, ripresa della vita economica e sociale sono tutti elementi che accomunano il periodo del 1920 con gli attuali anni 2020, creando così un parallelismo e un’affinità di sentimenti che evidenziano la volontà di un rinnovamento dopo periodi di crisi.
Se nel periodo post-bellico del ‘900 il cambiamento sociale ed estetico riguardò soprattutto la donna, attualmente si mira invece allo scardinamento delle convenzioni sociali e di genere in toto, rendendo quanto più attuale la frase “It’s never too late to be whatever you want to be” di F. S. Fitzgerald. Su questi principi è stata sviluppata una collezione di pizzi e ricami genderless dominati da forme geo-metriche ispirate all’Art Déco. Pieni e vuoti, rilievi e frange si alternano e fondono in un gioco dinami-co, esprimendo così la vitalità degli anni ’20 in una moderna visione di libertà personale e di genere.
Freedom, emancipation, restarting of economic and social life are all elements that unite the pe-riod of 1920s with the current 2020s, thus creating a parallelism and an affinity of feelings that highlight the will for renewal after periods of crisis.
If in the post-war period of the 1900s social and aesthetic change mainly concerned women, cur-rently the aim is instead to undermine social and gender conventions, making the phrase “It’s never too late to be whatever you want to be” by F. S. Fitzgerald as current as possible. Based on these principles, a collection of genderless lace and embroideries was developed with the domi-nance of geometric shapes inspired by Art Deco. Full and empty, reliefs and fringes alternate and blend in a dynamic game, thus expressing the vitality of the 1920s in a modern vision of personal and gender freedom.
