Metamorfosi
L’eleganza e la teatralità sono elementi caratterizzanti e rappresentativi del paese del Sol Levante.
La sua lunga e antica tradizione teatrale ha prodotto diverse forme di teatro tra cui l’antico Nō costi-tuito da musiche, danze e canti in cui gli attori indossano delle maschere rappresentanti esseri uma-ni, demoni, divinità o persino animali. La più conosciuta è la maschera Hannya dalle corna appuntite, occhi dorati malinconici, denti sporgenti e affilati. I costumi utilizzati, ricchi e colorati, vengono sem-pre accompagnati dal ventaglio, accessorio essenziale.
Questa teatralità, a volte unita al gusto per il macabro, si unisce al tema di “mutazione” in cui gli elementi del ventaglio giapponese, della maschera Hannya e delle farfalle, molto presenti nei
kimoni, si trasformano. Molte composizioni prendono spunto dai tradizionali pattern giapponesi quali il kikkō, lo shippō, il seigaiha e l’asanoha.
La palette colori del progetto riprende toni delicati e caldi accostati ad altri più forti e freddi i quali vengono tutti accompagnati dall’oro che spesso impreziosisce i kimoni.
Elegance and theatricality are representative features of the land of the Rising Sun.
Its long and ancient theatrical tradition has produced several forms of theater, one of them is the an-cient Nō consisting in music, dances and songs in which the actors wear masks representing humans, demons, deities or even animals. The most well known is the Hannya mask characterised by pointed horns, melancholy golden eyes, protruding and sharp teeth. The costumes, richly decorated and color-ful, are always accompanied by the fan, an essential accessory.
This particular theatricality, sometimes combined with the taste for the macabre, joins the theme of “mutation” in which some elements such as the Japanese fan, the Hannya mask and the butterflies, often featured in kimonos, are transformed. Many compositions are inspired by traditional Japanese patterns such as kikkō, shippō, seigaiha and asanoha.
The color palette of the project incorporates delicate and warm tones and combined them with other stronger and cooler which are paired with gold, an element that often embellishes the kimonos.
