Ho voluto iniziare questa frase con un approccio metaforico e poetico al suo significato. Per me gli anni ’20 simboleggiano il massimo dell’eleganza, la follia della notte e la spensieratezza umana. Dopo la guerra, c’era un desiderio di libertà e leggerezza. Era l’epoca del Burlesque, dal Moulin Rouge di Parigi alle ragazze delle Ziegfeld-Follies di New York. Era l’epoca delle feste, nulla era troppo stravagante, per pensare di essere la luna, per pensare di essere il sole e per finire tutti vestiti di pavone. Volevo riprendere questi giochi di carte immaginari, l’astrologia e gli animali spettacolari. Giocare tra l’uomo e la natura che lo ispira. Entrare in questo gioco di seduzione e sensualità che ritroviamo nelle danze frenetiche delle scene burlesche. Attraverso questo progetto, ho voluto tessere la poesia, indossare la poesia, vivere con la poesia.

Ho voluto ispirarmi a questi spettacoli burleschi e surrealisti, mescolando, interpretando i loro riferimenti e confrontandoli con gli artisti contemporanei. Con animali come il pavone, l’uccello di fuoco e ispirandomi ad artisti contemporanei come il fotografo Carlos Jaramillo o l’artista Esteban Fuentes De Maria. Mi sono anche ispirato al mondo di Dalì, il cui sguardo e la cui originalità erano già in anticipo sui tempi. Ho voluto giocare con un disegno figurativo onirico.

I wanted to start with this phrase with a metaphorical, poetic approach to its meaning. For me, the 20s symbolises the height of elegance, the madness of the night and human carefree behaviour. After the war, there was a desire for freedom and lightness. It was the time of Burlesque, from the Moulin Rouge in Paris to the girls of Ziegfeld-Follies in New York. It was a time for parties, nothing was too extravagant, to think you were the moon, to think you were the sun and to end up all dressed in peacock. I wanted to take up these imaginary card games, astrology and spectacular animals. Playing between man and the nature that inspires him. To enter into this game of seduction and sensuality that we find in the frantic dances of burlesque scenes. Through this project, I wanted to weave poetry, to wear poetry, to live with poetry.

I wanted to be inspired by these burlesque and surrealist shows, mixing, interpreting their references and comparing them to contemporary artists. With animals like the peacock, the firebird and inspired by contemporary artists like the photographer Carlos Jaramillo or the artist Esteban Fuentes De Maria. Also taking inspiration from the world of Dali, his look and originality already ahead of his time. I wanted to play with a dreamy figurative drawing.
