L’illusione ottica è una situazione naturale in cui la nostra mente percepisce qualcosa che non è esatta-mente la realtà. Tale situazione può essere riprodotta con tecniche che gli artisti hanno perfezionato nel corso degli anni. Artisti e stilisti usano questa tecnica nelle loro opere, mostrando le varie opzioni di di-versi tipi di illusioni.
Il circo era un luogo in cui iniziò l’uso dell’illusione ottica per l’intrattenimento, con i suoi spettacoli vari come giocoleria, clown, trapezisti e maghi, il pubblico rimase incantato dalle infinite possibilità.
Nel settore della moda, le stampe hanno abbracciato questa possibilità di innovazione, creando modelli e diversi tipi di tecniche da introdurre nel settore tessile con diverse varianti di questa opzione di design.
