Industry Project: Ferragamo
Questo progetto ha un approccio utilitaristico alla borsa da viaggio, con una ricerca iniziale che deriva da parti, dettagli e materiali degli aerei e dagli strumenti e dalle tecniche utilizzati per costruirli. La “borsa degli attrezzi” è diventata un altro punto di partenza, con una ricerca sull’uso delle borchie e sulla forma strutturale rigida delle borse. In contrasto con la borsa degli attrezzi, questa borsa è pensata per dare una sensazione di lusso e di sportività, di durezza e di morbidezza, e questo contrasto dovrebbe essere evidenziato dall’uso della lana e della gomma. Per unire il rapporto tra l’utente e la borsa, è stato importante rendere la borsa personalizzabile, tattile e giocosa, con toppe e tasche rimovibili che mostrano nuovi loghi ispirati agli aerei.
This project has a utilitarian approach to a travel bag, with initial research deriving from aircraft parts, details and materials and the tools and techniques used to build these aircrafts. The ‘tool bag’ became another starting point, with research into usage of studs and structural stiff shape of bags. In contrast to the tool bag, this bag is intended to feel both luxury and sporty, hard and soft, this contrast should be shown with the usage of wool and rubber. Bringing together the relationship of the user and the bag, it was important to make the bag customise-able, tactile and playful with removable patches and pockets showing off new aircraft inspired logos.
