30 Miglia
Sono cresciuta con l’odore del mare e con la salsedine sulla pelle.
Gran parte della mia adolescenza l’ho vissuta al porto, tra pescherecci, calafati e marinai.
Osservavo quelle barche tornare a riva, nel silenzio della mattina e provavo a farmi ispirare, osservando quella vita a cui i pescatori dedicavano passione, e quel mare di cui erano tanto innamorati.
Il mio progetto è un omaggio a quegli uomini, che ogni notte si tuffano nell’Adriatico, e che tornano all’alba, mentre io sono lì ad aspettarli. Un omaggio particolare va a Mauro Facchini, detto “il Pipetta”, che mi ha aiutato ad approfondire la mia ricerca: raccontando gli aneddoti dei pescatori, e mostrandomi tutti gli oggetti e le abitudini di cui un marinaio vive.
A Fano Mauro è considerato “l’ultimo sarto del mare”, che all’età di 80 anni lavora ancora con passione sul suo peschereccio.
Il mio progetto è ispirato ai pescatori e ogni prodotto realizzato riprende un dettaglio che si trova all’interno delle loro imbarcazioni.
I grew up with the smell of the sea and the saltiness on my skin.
I lived most of my adolescence at the port, among fishing boats, caulkers and sailors.
I watched those boats return to shore, in the silence of the morning and tried to get inspired, observing that life to which the fishermen dedicated their passion, and that sea they were so in love with.
My project is a tribute to those men, who dive into the Adriatic every night, and who return at dawn, while I am there waiting for them. A special tribute goes to Mauro Facchini, known as “il Pipetta”, who helped me to deepen my research: by telling fishermen anecdotes, and showing me all the objects and habits a sailor lives by.
In Fano Mauro is considered “the last tailor of the sea”, who at the age of 80 still works with passion on his fishing boat.
My project is inspired by fishermen and each product made takes up a detail found inside their boats.
