Il mare e i suoi naufragi, l’uomo e le sue memorie.
Le Ama, pescatrici “sirene” giapponesi che nude, legate da una corda in vita si immergono in lunghe apnee nei fondali marini, diventano l’anello di congiunzione tra queste due entità così lontane eppure così simili.
Elementi provenienti dal mare e da “famosi” naufragi della storia come: salvagente, reti e abiti da pescatore, “legati” come le corde delle Ama, entrano quasi in simbiosi con i gobelin e gli arazzi e i rasi d’arredamento dal sapore “passato, sbiadito e volatile” come le piume delle sirene, donne uccello , della mitologia greca. I ricami e le lavorazioni prendono le forme delle suggestive opere sommerse dell’artista contemporaneo Jason deCaires Taylor. Questa collezione è un viaggio introspettivo, un’immersione nella memoria… APNEA.
The sea and its shipwrecks, man and his memories. The Ama, naked Japanese "mermaid"; fishermen, tied by a rope at the waist, plunge into long apneas in the seabed, becoming the link between these two entities so distant yet so similar. Elements coming from the sea and from "famous" shipwrecks of history such as: lifebuoys, nets and fisherman's clothes, "tied" like the Ama ropes, come almost in symbiosis with the gobelins and tapestries and furnishings with a "past" flavor, faded and volatile ”like the feathers of the mermaids, bird women, of Greek mythology. The embroideries and processes take the forms of the suggestive submerged works of the contemporary artist Jason deCaires Taylor. This collection is an introspective journey, an immersion in memory ... APNEA.
