The black paper è una collezione ispirata al lavoro dell’artista Kubar Zinaida (Dakini), che esplora le tradizioni ucraine rivisitandole in chiave moderna riportando in luce gli usi e costumi di un popolo. Le linee riprendono dei particolari degli abiti tradizionali e l’atmosfera riporta a un mondo antico che viene riscoperto assieme all’espressione della spiritualità femminile e alle trasformazioni dettate dal tempo e dall’inevitabilità. I fiori delle corone utilizzate dalle spose ucraine vengono riproposti nei tessuti jacquard, nei broccati e nelle lavorazioni di crèponne strappato e si alternano con pesantezze e trasparenze differenti.
The black paper is a collection inspired by the work of the artist Kubar Zinaida (Dakini), who explores Ukrainian traditions revisiting them in a modern key bringing to light the uses and customs of a people. The lines recall the details of traditional clothes and the atmosphere takes us back to an ancient world which is rediscovered together with the expression of female spirituality and the transformations dictated by time and inevitability. The flowers of the crowns used by Ukrainian brides are re-proposed in jacquard fabrics, brocades and torn crèponne processes and alternate with different heaviness and transparencies.
